OMA's Mission
Organic Movement Atelier by Aliyah Monea' explores the physical activities of dance, yoga, group fitness, and sports. Through the variety of movement programs, OMA merges the aesthetics of artistic expression with the natural healing qualities of recreational and kinesthetic movement.
OMA's Dance Program is designed to do the following:
· Provide quality dance instruction which explores technical proficiency, individual dance artistry, and movement as tool of both expression and release
· ultivate a communal environment where young dancers profoundly connect choreographic movement and life experiences as emergent dance artists and performers
About Aliyah Monea'
After years of teaching for different studios, camps, and a variety of public and private schools throughout Baltimore, Aliyah Monea' has initiated a program of her own.
Through her own poetic affirmations and choreographed fluidity of movement, both Aliyah Monea’s dance and yoga classes seamlessly interconnect artistic expression and exploration of the body, mind, and spirit. You might find that her choreography is aesthetically designed to foster a mode of self introspection and expression as she aims to connect the sensations of the physical body with the spiritual.
Aliyah first began to explore dance ministry at age nine and is currently, a minister of dance with 1346 Dance Ensemble. Aliyah graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health and Dance. There she founded Bucknell University’s very own Bisonettes Dance Team in 2010. In 2013 Aliyah spent 5 months in London, Paris, and Amsterdam where she studied art history, British architecture, and dance. Later in 2015, Aliyah was trained by Kim Manfredi through Charm City Yoga’s 200-hour teacher training program. She is now a certified and registered yoga instructor.
As a public health advocate and future doctor of physical therapy, she fervently believes in physical activity, artistic expression,and the body’s natural abilities to heal itself. In 2012 she sustained a knee injury which jeopardized her college dance career. By the grace of God, she attributes her dance and yoga practice as the major contributor to her physical and emotional recovery. You will find that her classes coordinate strength building and awareness. Since 2014, Aliyah has artistically directed and coordinated dance programs for performing arts schools, childcare programs, and classes and physical education programs around Baltimore city.

Enrollment for OMA Dance will open on February 16, 2019. For information on how to enroll join the mailing list or send an inquiry via our website expressing interest.
All are welcome to participate in OMA Yoga. Currently class is offered on Sundays at 6:30 pm at no charge. One must bring their own yoga mat. Donations are suggested.
OMA Fitness and Friends is a competitive, alternative athletics sports program for children. Further information on that program is soon to come. Stay tuned.
OMA DANCE Registration, Enrollment and Drop ins

Registration and Enrollment is a TWO step process for our children’s classes and a ONE step process for our adult classes. If you are registering for an adult class simply complete step one by filling out the online form. Please be sure to read and follow all directions. Registration forms and registration fees are due by the start of the first class.
- STEP 1: Click on the button that says "OMA Dance Online Registration Form." It will lead you to the registration form. Fill out the form and return to this page to complete step 2.
- STEP 2: Click on the button that says "Make OMA Dance Registration Payment." It will lead you to another site where you will choose the type of payment you would like to place. You will add "Registration" to your cart and check out. When you have completed Step 1 AND Step 2, your registration is complete.
How do I sign up for just a Drop-In Class?
Are you interested in enrollment, but would rather try out a class first? Take advantage of our 1st time visitor's special!
- All non-enrolled children are allowed one free trial class during the season's first week of class. After that first week, standard drop in rates apply.
- The drop in rate for non-enrolled children is $40 per 2 hour class session.
- The drop in rate for adults is $25 per adult class.
Drop-ins must be paid for before class. To make your drop-in class payment click the "Make Drop-in Class Payment" button.
